Our History

KJP opened its doors as a half-day preschool in August, 2004, with 14 children. As evidenced by the continually growing enrollment, the preschool fills a critical need in our ever-growing community. Our hours of operation are Monday–Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Today, the school operates as a full and part-time licensed program with a 5-Star rating and has an enrollment of 78 children, ages 6 weeks to 5 years

Our preschool’s curriculum is based on the philosophy of developmentally appropriate practices and a child-centered approach to education. Our open ended, hands-on activities offer each child the opportunity to gain competence in skill areas as well as to grow in self-esteem. While KJP is open to families with children of all faiths, KJP also offers some Jewish curriculum by engaging our students in craft activities and songs with Jewish content, including following the Jewish calendar of celebrations and holidays. Children also learn Hebrew vocabulary and phrases.

The primary mission of KJP is to provide children with a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment that lets each child develop socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. In this child-centered environment, the children experience Kehillah’s core values which include building a strong and cohesive community and welcoming the diversity of its families. Our community benefits from the voluntary contributions of time, talent, and energy by the school’s parents.
